Tooth Fillings

Cavity And Tooth Decay | Teeth Filling For Cavities | Best Dentist Near Lewiston, ME

The filling of teeth is a very effective way to restore a decay-weakened tooth or teeth. Each tooth is important to the overall functionality of both your bite and individual teeth.

Initially, decayed tissue in the tooth is removed, then is precisely cleaned. Next, the filling material is placed in the cavity. This seals the tooth off from tooth decay, building a strong, natural defense to help you maintain oral health.

Tooth Filling Options

There are multiple methods your dental health professionals at Aspire Family Dentistry may use for tooth filling,  however we only use Composite Resin fliings, as well as Porcelain and Gold onlay and inlay fillings to fill the teeth, restore function as well as give a natural tooth appearance

For Major Restorations (i.e. Crowns, Bridges) we may use Porcelain, Gold or other composites to restore the tooth.

Common Questions Our Patients Ask About Tooth Fillings:

Together, we’ll discuss and agree on a plan that includes everything you need to know about your tooth filling here at Aspire Family Dentistry.   Patients all have their own goals and personal considerations, and we listen. Then, we plan accordingly. Choosing how to restore the tooth can depend on the location and size of the cavity, and the extent of the filling. Allergies may also affect this decision, so be sure to let your dentist know about any allergies and/or other sensitivities.   Insurance may or may not cover certain tooth filling materials, leading to out of pocket costs. We’ll work through that issue with you, to make sure there are no unexpected costs. Our goal is to find the best financial path for each individual to affordably achieve complete oral health.
Dental pain isn’t usually hard to discern. It hurts, sometimes seriously so. However, cavities can sometimes lurk below the surface, steadily creating more tooth decay. It can definitely require a dental health professional to use all the tools available to identify the location and extent or cavities.   If the tooth has been damaged by decay or trauma, a dental crown or other oral care treatment may be needed. If decay is adjacent to the nerve of the tooth, a root canal is often necessary. Early detection of cavities is key, so don’t forget to get dental checkups every six months for yourself, and everyone in the family. Dental x-rays may also be necessary. These will allow the dentist to clearly ascertain the level of decay and cavity details.

I had an unfortunate event (broken tooth) and a co-worker recommended Aspire. I couldn't be happier with the experience I have had - from the wonderful receptionist, amazing hygienist and ultimately Dr. Lee's mannerisms!! Everyone was so helpful, pleasant and understanding. They were able to get me right in and fix my tooth the same day!! Would recommend to anyone looking for a comforting staff that makes you feel safe in these crazy times!

"I was seen promptly and quickly put at ease with the Dr's kind gentle manner. Let's face it.....no one likes having to go to the dentist right? It was a great experience, no pressure and I was given "options" which really made me feel in control......I really appreciated that. With state of the art equipment, a clean professional office and excellent staff (thanks Linda!") I would HIGHLY recommend this office."

I always have the best experience at Aspire Family Dentistry, they all truly care for their patients at the highest level. All of the hygienists are super friendly, and very good at what they do. Dr. Lee always lightens the mood with chit chat and jokes - not to mention he is the best dentist I have ever had the pleasure of being a customer of. Also, I think the addition of the Television and the screen that shows the x-rays of your teeth is awesome! 10/10. Would recommend to everyone!
